The safety of your beloved pets is one of my upmost concerns. In order for that to happen, I MUST feel comfortable with your dog. This includes me being able to handle them at all times without my safety being at risk. A facility like this isn't for every dog, and is why I REQUIRE a Meet & Wag to assess their demeanor. I have worked with dogs for over a decade in very stressful situations, so I can deal with anxiety but I will NOT deal with aggression that I can't correct. I believe in pack leadership, positive reinforcement & no-nonesense.
This is not a free for all facility and there are rules. In order for all the dogs to have a good time, attitudes and body language must be kept in check. I use an ultrasonic anti-bark device and Pet Corrector Spray® to curb any excessive barking. If they don't respond to those techniques, I strongly believe in "time-outs" which will also be used for any aggressive behavior. I have a ton of regular dogs that have figured out the calm flow I expect of them while here. This is the main reason I do daily report cards for each dog, so that I can keep track of what behaviors are being corrected and whom is making progress when warranted. I also would like to think that their owners would want to know how their dog is behaving while here. Country Pet Playground, LLC is under 24-hr video surveillance as well so that I can pin point any dog that is starting trouble.
I completely understand that some dogs are just not OK with other dogs, I have one myself, so I want those owners to understand that they will get different play times throughout the day. When there is a need for different play times, that means ALL the dogs will essentially have less play time. Also, daycare dogs will be priority since they are only here for the day. Most of the daycare dogs are dog friendly, hence why they're here to socialize.
In regards to small vs big dogs that stay here, they are kept separate from each other as well. I have 80 pound plus dogs that stay here, so one weighing considerably less than that is at risk of getting injured if running around with "the big dogs".
If you don't feel comfortable with any of the things mentioned above, then this place might not be a fit for you or your dog. However, I am open to any suggestions you may have, but please remember I have A LOT of experience with dogs. I also have up to 15 dogs in my facility at any given time and my approach to keeping things peaceful has done wonders on making sure everyone is safe and having a great time.
You must provide up to date vaccine records for your dog that includes Distemper/Parvo (DHPP/,DA2PP), Rabies and Bordetella (kennel cough). In order for the vaccines to have the best immunity, please make sure these are done at least 24 hours before your scheduled stay if they need to be updated by your veterinarian. I DO NOT supply ANY vaccines. I believe your veterinarian should be the one to administer any of these, including the bordetella (kennel cough).
We are located in an area that is known for bugs! So, I strongly encourage your dog to be treated with flea, tick & heartworm prevention. I CAN NOT guarantee they will not come home with any of the above if they are not on prevention. As a former Vet Tech, the owner can testify that prevention is the best thing for your dog & your wallet! Your veterinarian can help you decide what is best for your dog.
We really want your fur baby to have the time of their lives here! A new place can be nerve- racking to some dogs, so we want to make sure Country Pet Playground, LLC is a perfect fit for them. With our "open door" policy, we want our future clients to have no doubt about our dedication to your pet. So, please understand our policy in having a "meet and wag" before your scheduled vacation or any daycare needs. This does mean your DOG is also required to come, so vaccines need to be updated beforehand and a copy must be presented.
