About Our Facility
Country Pet Playground, LLC was established in 2017 by Karissa Shambarger after visiting family here and falling in love with the beauty of the Ozarks. When planning on what to do for a living, the idea of a dog boarding place that was oriented around a social environment came to mind. With her background as a Vet Tech for over a decade, it was an easy decision to make. With a lot of hard work, planning and an amazing family to help her, the dream became a reality.
Every dog is given as much time as possible out of their kennels to socialize with other dogs if they are dog friendly or hang out with the humans if they are not! There are nap times for a few hours a day to give us time to clean and/or have personal things to do. Play time is spent with chew toys, rope toys, tug toys, tennis balls, agility tunnel, ramps, jumps and much more! The outside area is completely fenced in and under constant surveillance . On colder days, they have a dog door to go in and out as they please. When the warmer season is here, the sliding barn door is opened up during the day.
Comfort is also an important part of Country Pet Playground, LLC. The kennels are large, with plenty of room to eat, sleep and stretch. Raised dog beds made by Kuranda along with food and water bowls provided to each dog (we DO NOT provide dog food). We can have several big dogs from one family in our 6x6 kennels and several small dogs from one family in our 4x4 kennels. All dogs over 50 pounds get a large kennel and all dogs under 50 pounds get a smaller kennel-depending on the schedule. They have dogs beds in the inside play area to lounge on as well! The inside is environmentally controlled 365 days a year.
SENIOR DOGS & SMALL DOGS
In order to ensure every dogs safety, the senior and small dogs are separated from the bigger dogs when there is a large number of dogs staying here.
I am honored to be able to care for people's fur babies. I know how important they are to each family and am dedicated to providing an exceptional service. I have a college education in animal science from PIMA Medical Institute in Denver, CO and applied that as a Vet Tech for 11 years at Denver Animal Hospital. I have devoted my entire adult life to caring for animals and hope to do so for many years to come.
I absolutely love Mountain View, AR. I have also dedicated myself to the local Chamber of Commerce as the President of the Board of Directors. I am also on the Board for the local chapter of Wives of Armor.
