Experience Keep'n It Real

We use only Iv San Bernard products, which have changed the grooming industry in over 35 countries since 1995. They focus on products designed for various coat types and proper skin management with all products based on natural ingredients. Special attention to the skin, hair, and health of the animals through proper product use, selection, technical support, and training are ISB’s core attributes. Dr. Cliff Faver, DVM, oversees the United States branch of the company.

We adhere to Certified Master Groomer, Jennifer Bishop-Jenkins, "The 15 Coat Type" guideline because we are in the Coat Preservation business, not the Coat Destruction business. Another reference that has the best interests of your dog's health in mind, is the American Kennel Club (AKC). Each breed has specific guidelines from their head down to their toes, with an in-depth description of the Coat. Their website is also a fantastic place to research any potential new family members so that you can be well prepared, especially with any grooming needs.

Grooming is so much more than just shaving a dog, or at least we think so! Not everyone will or does agree, but for those who do?! Give us a call or use our online booking service. We can't wait for your dog to look & feel its best!

Full Salon Services

Doodle/Combo Coats | $61-$88 | Time: 1.5 - 2 hours

This service includes a 3-step bathing process in order to address the multiple types of coat/hair. The first conditioning step is one of a few types, depending on the density/condition of the coat, Iv San Bernard's Pek conditioner mask or Passion Fruit conditioner mask. Then cleansed with Iv San Bernard's Mineral H shampoo & conditioned again with Pek or Passion Fruit. This process allows us to break down the undercoat and hydrate the hair. Cotton balls are not used in their ears during bath time, so we flush them out with high-quality ear flush, then make sure the area we can see is cleaned out.  They will get dried with our high-velocity dryer (we have not & will never use cage dryers) and brushed out with the appropriate brush and comb. We will then style and cut their entire body from ears to toes. They will have their nails trimmed & sharp edges smoothed out if they allow it. We finish off with Iv San Bernard Atami spray that contains Jojoba oil, Avocado oil, and Bamboo extracts.

Hydro Massage Ozone Spa

At Keep'n It Real, we have a special Ozone Spa Bath that helps your dog benefit from the very latest in spa therapy; combining three of nature’s most powerful elements, heat, water, and air.  Our Ozone Spa Bath is effective as it uses hydro-massage and ozone to ease stress, bathe away physical fatigue, relax joints and muscles, and treat skin and coat. Ozone is the most powerful and rapid-acting oxidizer man can produce and will oxidize all bacteria, mold, and yeast spores, organic material, and viruses.

BENEFITS OF OZONE HYDRO-MASSAGE THERAPY

Required Vaccines

Rabies, Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella

The bordetella aka kennel cough, is required every 6 months at my facility. This is due to having an outbreak several summers ago when it was only required yearly. Since establishing this policy, we have not had any more issues. We take your dog's health very seriously.

All puppies must be at least 12 weeks of age with a minimum of 2 distemper/parvo boosters & the bordetella all done by a licensed veterinarian. Rabies is typically not done until 16 weeks & not required until that time.

Vaccines done at home or by breeders will not work. I can only be 100% certain they have been done when done by a veterinarian.

You need to call your veterinarian & ask if they are up to date. If they are, you can ask them to email them to owner@countrypetplayground.com or text a picture to 218-453-4725. If you have records, you can send them as well.

Groomers

Marina grew up and lived in Northeast Ohio. She attended the PetsMart Grooming Academy in 2013. After grooming dogs for 2 years, she realized that corporate grooming companies truly didn't care about the well-being of your pets and walked away from grooming.

In 2021, she moved to Melbourne with her husband and daughter to start a homestead. She also started working for Country Pet Playground here in Mountain View as the doggie daycare attendant. She soon became interested in the grooming techniques that Karissa was learning about through Iv San Bernard and their dedication to science and care for your pet's health. She picked up those clippers once again, rediscovering her passion for dog grooming. Marina approaches every pup with love, compassion, and care to ensure our furry friends enjoy their grooming experience every single visit!

When she's not at the salon spoiling your pups, she's spending time with her family on their homestead with countless chickens, ducks, rabbits, cats, and of course dogs!

Karissa established Country Pet Playground in 2017. She grew up in Denver, Colorado where she graduated from PIMA Medical Institute as a Certified Veterinary Assistant in 2006. She worked in the field for 11 years before moving to Mountain View in 2016 to be close to family. Animals have been her passion since she was a little girl thanks to her grandparent's love of dogs. Her great-grandfather was a dog groomer & boarder as well, so you could say dogs are in her blood!

Her husband, Sean, and Karissa only have 4 legged furry children: Sir Lancelot the French Bulldog, Ela the German Shepherd (retired K9 Unit) & 3 cats Freddy, Kevin & Yukon King.
